Stop us if you've heard this one: you're driving somewhere, minding your own business, when suddenly one of your lights pops up on your car's dashboard. It doesn't matter what the light is, the message is the same.

ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) Warning Lights and Brake Fluid Indicators
If there's one component to your car you certainly don't want to overlook, it's your brakes. You want to make sure they're correctly maintained.
Any malfunction with your car's ABS system will result in the ABS warning light coming on. There could be an issue with the mechanism that prevents your car's wheels from locking. Applying your brakes at this time will result in your wheels skidding.
If your Brake Fluid light comes on, the culprit can be either low brake-fluid levels, brake pad issues, or a damaged sensor. Either situation is not to be ignored.
Check Engine Light
The source of this light can be something as minor as a loose gas cap to something serious such as engine issues. Whatever the case, this light is not to be ignored.
If the cause is a loose gas cap, the light will automatically go off once the matter is resolved. But any other cause will require the assistance of an auto professional.
Engine Temperature Light
Also known as the Thermometer Light, the Temperature Light pops on when your car's engine is overheating. At this point, your course of action is to pull over into a safe place and shut the engine off. This will allow the engine to cool down, preventing you from causing any extensive damage. Otherwise, you'll be looking at expensive repairs.
Oil Pressure Light
The Oil Pressure Light comes on any time there are low oil levels, pressure sensor issues, or engine problems. Ignore this light, and you can cause severe engine damage and potentially motor breakdown.
Tire Pressure Indicator
When the Tire Pressure Indicator comes on, the common culprit is the incredibly low or high air pressure in one or more of your car's tires. It could also indicate an issue with the tire pressure sensor.
Either way, this light shouldn't be ignored. You can risk having a blowout while you're driving.
